Hola amigo,
Happy Three Point Thursday!
This week’s edition features an insight on a critical aspect of effective communication, a quote from a wise interpreter of Indian philosophy, and some monkey motivation to go move heavy things.
It’s how you say things.
I’ve been working in tech sales for almost two years now. I find it interesting seeing the way people have different sales styles and strong suits. Some people are product knowledge gurus, some are financial wizards who show ROI super well, and some do discovery so well that the prospect talks themselves into our technology being able to solve their problems. That said, it seems that the most important quality successful people have is just speaking well. The confidence in your voice is the most important signal people subconsciously look for when determining how much they should listen to you. That said, the confidence has to be real. It has to come from knowing what you’re talking about, and from a place of knowing what you’re saying can actually help the prospect (hence the need to disqualify certain prospects). And as far as I can tell, it also has to come from a genuine confidence and belief in yourself, which has nothing to do with work. That comes from things like physical fitness, moral character, calculated risk taking, and self-respect. When you have all those things in line, your voice is naturally confident, and you naturally have success.
What is between two thoughts?
“If thought is discontinuous…what is between two thoughts? The answer is, nothing. A thought is like a wave in consciousness; between two thoughts there is no movement in the mind at all. Consciousness itself is like a still lake, clear, calm, and full of joy.”

Meathead mashups make you want nothing less than domination.
My friend and I brainwashed ourselves in the best way possible during the pandemic. This was the most transformative era of weightlifting I’ve ever experienced, and part of that was because the mental edge we gained every day through constantly listening to completely absurd motivational mashups on Soundcloud. Next time you’re driving to your workout, listen to “PROVE THEM WRONG - THE ULTIMATE GYM MOTIVATION,” or “Rise and Shine Welcome To The Grind (Motivation),” or my personal favorite, “Greg Plitt - Dance In The Rain.” By the time you get to the gym, you will be unbelievably pissed off at the barbell, and proceed to have an electric pump.
Keep shooting,
Jeff
