Hola amigo,
This week’s edition features a reflection on the beauty of books, a useful and motivating idea, and an important quote from the great author Aldous Huxley.
Thank God for books.
It is no exaggeration to say that reading books brings your mind to a higher level in every way. It allows you to see so much more beauty in the world. It allows you to understand people deeper. It allows you to feel more awe. Or as the author Walter Tevis said: “I feel free and strong. If I were not a reader of books I could not feel this way.”
If you paint, pretend Picasso is watching you when you pick up the brush.
Growing up, whenever I was playing basketball in my driveway, I would imagine that someone was watching me practice, usually a coach or some player I admired. This was always so motivating because it made it impossible for me to be lazy. I wouldn’t want them to be disappointed in my lack of work ethic. We’re social animals and positive peer pressure is one of the most powerful forces in the world. You might as well use it to your advantage.
A message needed for our times.
“The propagandist’s purpose is to make one set of people forget that certain other sets of people are human.”
Keep shooting,
Jeff
