I feel it's the American way, perhaps since the death of God or for lack of unifying feedback loops, to always swing (and be able to swing) every pendulum as hard as we can, for better or worse.

Also, cannabis makes for a perfect weapon if intended. Reminded of this: http://k-punk.abstractdynamics.org/archives/004500.html

Haha brings to mind what George Carlin said: “When you're born you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front row seat.” Also just read a bit of the blog post you linked—wow.

I can totally understand the fundamental human urge to get high and advocate for it. It's sad we perpetuate cultural obstacles that make it difficult for humans to do that more naturally using the unparalleled stimulant of authentic expression.

Well said. “The unparalleled stimulant of authentic expression” — love that.

Hmm. never tried it. never wanted to.

Rick, considering your skill as a public speaker and dedication to it I don't find that particularly surprising! Can't imagine wanting to get on stage with cannabis in the system

A cop smoking weed?? That one sure bamboozled me. Probably the best sign that the ol' pendulum has swung too far.

Hahaha it was crazy. Agreed.

Also important to note that the weed of today is not comparable to that of even ten or twenty years ago. It’s been fine tuned and concentrated to a level that makes it similar to a much harder drug. It’s the difference between having a couple of beers after your shift is over and downing a fifth of bourbon in a few hours.

Yes, that is important to note. Dispensaries popping everywhere selling weed where the THC content is jacked up.
