Thanks for the article.

Beautiful reminder to “focus on doing something for its own sake.”

Culture makes us forget that “something” (or I tend to forget sometimes)

But having an inner scorecard is key.

Not only to measure myself.

Also to be aware of which games I’m playing.

Merci Jeff! :)

Important messages here Jeff, and it is something I am also trying to control myself as I’m beginning new adventures. It’s all about inner peace and happiness. Once we have this, we are in full control of our lives.

I'm 100% on board with all of this Jeff. How do you personally reconcile the additional wrinkle of the inner scorecard not always paying the bills? Following that inner voice, direction, and value system is so important, and the great work of being human. But in my experience the work doesn't stop there. You additionally have to figure out which portion of your inner scorecard overlaps with something the world needs and will pay you for. How's that going for you? For me, it's been an incredible amount of work to find the overlap. Very rewarding, but really sometimes experienced as a daunting task.

The “ride off into the sunset fallacy” and the “inner scorecard” you bring up are great ways to view the world. Perspective shifting.
