To curious minds,
Happy Three Point Thursday.
Here’s 3 quotes I’m thinking about:
“You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results.”
“Routine, in an intelligent man, is a sign of ambition.”
—W.H. Auden
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
It’s inspiring to see my 87 year old grandfather still hitting the gym multiple times per week. Often I’ll pop in at his house and he won’t be there (neither is my grandma, she’s at a party or something). He’s at Planet Fitness grinding. Do you think he’s relying on motivation? Do you think he cares if the gym gets boring sometimes? Of course not. He’s disciplined. It’s a habit.
All of the things I’m most proud of—like speaking other languages, lifting heavy weights, and writing this blog—are thanks to committing to repetition and repetition and more repetition of the process. Every day. They’re habits.
Never forget that there’s a massive difference between doing a little and doing nothing at all. Small habits compounded over time can create extraordinary results.1
La vita è bella,
Jeff
Every time you say you don’t have time to workout you’re lying. What’s stopping you from doing at-least ten hard minutes of pushups, air squats, and crunches today? Only you. You’re not that busy. I don’t believe you. You’re tired you say? Are you serious? You know who else was tired? The Italian Stallion. Rocky. But he was still running up mountains in Siberia while getting chased by the KGB. But yet here you are making excuses?
Hahah love that picture
