A ghost is haunting young men across America—a ghost of weakness, anxiety, and foolishness.
It’s easy to imagine a scary future. A future where a scary amount of dudes are sad. Sad because they are like the characters in the movie Wall-E. Sad because they are like the characters in the novel Brave New World. Sad because they are physically weak, perpetually hungover porn addicts with a habit of going to the dispensary before scrolling social media and sports gambling apps all day, without ever developing the comprehension skills to read a book or the social skills to ask out a woman. Or the life skills to realize that we only have one life. A short one. A precious, finite existence that ought to be experienced. That ought to be seized.
Becoming a Jacked Nerd is the antidote. It is a way of life. A set of characteristics one can adopt to deal with this world of infinite manipulation, endless distraction, and so-called pleasures that ultimately lead to despair.
The Jacked Nerds envision a future of guys who are intelligent, strong, and filled with purpose. Who are joyful. Joyful because their minds are sharp. Joyful because their bodies are strong. Joyful because their souls are on fire. This happens through developing wise ways of thinking. Through instilling wise habits. Through actually valuing health, wealth, and learning through how you live.
Uncharacteristic of a Jacked Nerd
Not reading books
Not exercising
Not writing down their thoughts and reflecting
Thinking wealth creation is a zero-sum game
Portraying women as the enemy (being a loser)
Valuing alcohol, smoking, porn, video games, and sports gambling (siren songs that ultimately lead to despair)
Being a Communist (especially one who has not read “Animal Farm” or my essay)
Being a Far Right Lunatic (gross)
Characteristic of a Jacked Nerd
Reading books
Exercising
Writing
Understanding that wealth creation is a positive-sum game
Knowing men and women are meant to love each other
Valuing adventure, reading and writing, lifting weights/martial arts/sports/running, and acquiring valuable skills
Studying history and understanding human nature
Engaging in critical thinking
Be a bookworm and gym rat; be a jacked nerd.
This speaks to me. I’m living this to the best of my ability, though it’s a constant battle. The world needs real men, not weak and sensitive asexual nice guys.
One thing I struggle with is video games. I’ve loved them since I was a kid. I don’t play nearly as much anymore but I honestly think there is some value there, if done in moderation. Some games are truly works of art, or at the very least, damn good fun.
If this is a parody, it's quite good.
